North Norfolk Foodbank x Cromer Pier

The Jewel of the North Norfolk coast, Cromer Pier, has chosen North Norfolk Foodbank as their Charity of the Year for 2026. The partnership comes at a particularly meaningful moment, as 2026 marks the 125th anniversary of Cromer Pier, a landmark year the attraction will be using to champion community support and shine a light on vital local causes.

The North Norfolk Foodbank, part of the Trussell Foodbank network, provides emergency food and practical support to people in crisis in our area. The charity also works with local partners and communities to ensure everyone can get the right help when they need it most.

With seven centres across the district in Cromer, Sheringham, Holt, Wells-next-the-Sea, North Walsham, Stalham, and Aylsham, North Norfolk Foodbank covers an area of almost three hundred square miles.

In the previous financial year, they fulfilled 2,012 foodbank vouchers, feeding 4,520 people. As a charity, they rely on donations from generous members of the public and local businesses to support the vital work they do here in North Norfolk.

“We are incredibly grateful to Cromer Pier for partnering with us in 2026, and we are equally excited for the opportunities this will bring for spreading awareness of our mission to support local people in crisis. We believe that there are more people out there struggling to feed themselves and their families, so it is important that we work to ensure everyone knows that support is available.” – Jamie Payne, Foodbank Liaison Officer.

As well as supporting individuals, couples, and families with emergency food parcels, North Norfolk Foodbank also supports local schools with snack packs and operates an Energy Bank for those in desperate situations. They have their own Citizen’s Advice advisor who works across the district to help people with practical advice and information.

The foodbank is supported by a hard-working and dedicated team of over 80 volunteers. Jamie added, “Without our team of volunteers, the foodbank simply wouldn’t exist to help people. They are the backbone of the organisation, and we are eternally grateful for their time and efforts.” Throughout 2026, there will be events held both at Cromer Pier and further afield, including coffee mornings and donation drives. As part of the Pier’s 125th anniversary,
