  1. Important information about how we are keeping you safe

The safety of all our staff and visitors is very important to us and in line with the latest government guidance we have implemented the new measures that apply to us.

Masks – In line with the latest government restrictions, face coverings must now be worn for all performances in the Cromer Pier pavilion theatre. Masks are now mandatory for customers and visitors, except those under the age of 11 or who are medically exempt. This applies at all times whilst in the theatre and all of our staff will also continue to wear masks in public areas.

The Government also announced the introduction of the NHS COVID pass as part of the new regulations. However, this does not apply to our venue so we will not be instigating pass checks unless government guidance changes.

Other measures we have in place to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience with us:

Cromer Pier Pavilion theatre full audience stage view

Crowd Management  – to reduce crowding we are making use of the exit doors as above to separate out people at key moments. Please enter and leave the theatre using the right and left auditorium doors on the side of the theatre seats 1-16 through the right-hand entrance and seats 17 to 32 through the left entrance.   Please do not enter using the bar entrance unless seated in the circle.

Track and trace information accompanies your booking but if you wish you may also check-in using the QR codes situated in and around the bar area with your NHS APP

We ask that you please avoid loitering in the bar area and try to send only one person to buy drinks, moving either outside or to your seat afterwards.See it safely logo V+H

Ventilation – the theatre is very well ventilated with airflow through the floor and wind catchers in the roof. We have added fans and directed them to help move air up towards the roof vents. Combined with the internal heat being higher than the outside air there should be a continuous flow of air to ventilate the theatre

Cast bubble – in order to try to avoid the cast isolating and closing the show they sadly cannot meet the audience after the show as in previous years.

We have been awarded the “See if Safely” accreditation to ensure that we are doing all we can for a safe return to the theatre for our audiences.

If you would like socially distanced seating in your bubble, please give us a call and we will do our best to arrange this, subject to availability.

Please DO NOT visit the venue if you feel unwell or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19

We have been thrilled to see audiences back enjoying the theatre and are really pleased we can continue to entertain you in a safe and fun environment. Thank you all for your continued support!

  4. Closing week of the Cromer Pier Show welcomes back guest act ‘Tucker’!

Closing week of the 2021 Cromer Pier Show!

It’s closing week of the 2021 Cromer Pier Show and who better to join our amazing cast for the last week than comedy genius ‘Tucker’. After a very successful first week joining the 2021 Cromer Pier show cast, Tucker is back to give us a closing week to remember!

Tucker, was always the joker in the pack at school, but it was only after a career as a plasterer and as a Blue Coat at Pontins that he found his feet on the comedy stage.

Paul, known as Tucker since a boy simply because he shares the same surname as Tucker Jenkins from Grange Hill, has been a staple of the comedy scene for the past two decades. He travels the world over with his gags, observational humour and wry take on the world. In his own words: ‘I’ve been everywhere being funny.’

He has performed at Wembley Arena and The Royal Albert Hall, been on tour with Barry Manilow, Bradley Walsh, The Stylistics and had Basil Brush as companion!  His theory is that there are two types of comedians. The first says funny things, the second says things funny.

Now into his 21st year of making people laugh, Tucker has a solo show but has also created his own variety show with Saturday night star billing at Warner Resorts.  This feeling is something he’s reluctant to let go and even though he now manages 18 artists, the call of a life touring and living out of a suitcase is strong enough for him to dramatically declare as a parting shot:

‘I’m never ever going to give up showbiz. Showbiz will have to give me up first.’

Tucker is performing from Tuesday 28th September until Saturday 2nd October. For days, times and to book, click below.

  7. Openwide Coastal and Nigel Hogg Productions join forces to support struggling artists!

‘Strictly Christmas’ show to bring some festive cheer to Cromer Pier!

Openwide Coastal Ltd, operators and custodians of Cromer Pier and Pavilion Theatre and producers of the Cromer Show have donated the Cromer Pier Pavilion Theatre on a ‘not for profit’ basis to Nigel Hogg Productions to help support variety artists left unable to work and earn an income through the Covid crisis. This generous gesture is allowing the artists to continue to keep the spirit of entertainment alive and is providing the acts with some income during these difficult times.

The theatre staged a summer show and took measures to ensure that they were Covid-secure, with audience numbers restricted to significantly below the 500 seat capacity of the venue. Whilst the reduced audience capacity makes it impossible to stage the usual Cromer Christmas show, Openwide Coastal Ltd and Nigel Hogg Productions, in association with North Norfolk District Council, are providing a venue and stage for variety acts to showcase their talents to try and support them through this difficult crisis. The artists then split the take from box office receipts to generate a small amount of income from each performance.

Nigel and his team have created a Christmas programme of entertainment called ‘Strictly Christmas’ which is a 90 minute variety show with a Christmassy theme and encompasses a mix of entertainment including 3 regular acts; Olly Day, Rob McVeigh the singer and a brilliant magic act called Amethyst. There will also be a different guest act at each performance. The first performance is on Friday 4th December and shows will run through until 1st January 2021

Nigel Hogg said: “We were absolutely thrilled with the support that we had for our Summer shows with most shows selling out at the reduced capacity of 100! The performers were delighted to be back on stage doing what they love most and being able to earn a small amount of money so we are really excited to be able to get them back on stage for Christmas! We really would encourage everyone to help us save the arts by booking a ticket to enjoy a safe, fun night out and let us bring some Christmas magic back to Cromer Pier!”

Rory Holburn, Director at Openwide Coastal commented, “We were excited to receive the wonderful news that we were successful in receiving an arts council grant which will help ensure we can bring the Cromer Pier show back in 2021 but as the current restrictions make it impossible to stage the Cromer Pier Christmas show this year, we are really pleased to be able to provide some support to the artists who have been struggling through this devastating time by donating the theatre space to them for a Christmas show

The 90-minute show has been accredited with a ‘We’re Good to Go’ stamp of approval by Visit England and North Norfolk District Council is also supporting the venture which will continue the tradition of keeping variety alive this Christmas at the end of the pier in Cromer.

Face coverings must be worn during the show. Tickets are £15 for adults or £7.50 for children under 16. Booking is for unallocated seating, and audience members will be seated by the ushers in their social bubbles. Any unsold tickets will be available at the door. Ticket collection is only from the pop-up box office in the Pavilion Bar, no postage option is available. 8. Cromer Pier helps performers keep variety entertainment alive!

Nigel Hogg Productions is bringing us the first indoor socially distanced variety show in Norfolk and possibly even Great Britain.

It’s not The Cromer Pier Show but it will be a great celebration of variety and the arts. Nigel Hogg Productions ‘Strictly Variety’ show will be hosted by Norfolk funny man Olly Day and include an array of the finest variety entertainers in the country. Expect some familiar extremely talented faces that have graced the theatre’s famous stage before and also some new faces in a 90-minute variety extravaganza.

The Pavilion theatre cannot open profitably until social distancing is over so the space is being made available to help the acts try and generate some income for themselves and get back on stage to perform which they so desperately need to do. In making the theatre available to these performers, Cromer Pier is doing their bit to help Keep Variety Alive until normal service and their own award-winning Summer Show can resume.

During these challenging times the show is in aid of supporting the artists whilst they have been left with no income and support until they can work again, the production team, the artists and tech crew would be very grateful for your support. They have put together a show, now all they need is you, please come along and help us save the arts.

With the help of Openwide Coastal Ltd and North Norfolk District Council the Pavilion Theatre has been made Covid-19 secure and has been given the Visit England “Good To Go” award for enhanced confidence.
