Tech Month-Week One

The  basic essentials, are a warm woolly hat, finger less gloves and copious amounts of builder’s tea as the hardworking theatre tech crew embark on a full maintenance program in January, that will take them right up until the Spring concert season to complete.     The crew will take a few days breather, following closing night of The Cromer Christmas Show and then begin the strike,  for those who don’t know what this is, it’s the stripping down of the scenery and props used in the Christmas show.   The get out will take a full day,  a busy day for the crew and the team from 3D Creations  ferrying the scenery and props down the Pier on large trolley’s to waiting vehicles parked on the Pier forecourt, the team will have everything crossed that the weather will be kind to us.    We have a safe store for scenery and props at a site nearby, some items are returned to 3D Creations for safekeeping, with a wonderful collection of  30 years of archive scenery.  We are extremely proud that Ian and his team have been providing high quality sets for the Cromer Pier Show for the past 30 years, a Norfolk company based in Gorleston-On-Sea with an impressive portfolio of work, including providing theatre back cloths and scenic painting for the West End, stage sets, film sets and TV sets .
